🛠️ Customization

Font Styles

Ninja themes utilize font styles (italic, bold) for semantic highlighting. For the best experience:

  1. Use a programming font that supports italics and multiple weights
  2. Ensure ligatures are enabled if your font supports them

Color Adjustments

If you want to customize the theme colors:

  1. Make a copy of the theme files
  2. Edit the JSON files in the themes directory
  3. Adjust colors as needed while maintaining contrast ratios for readability

Please make sure your changes maintain accessibility standards and consistent design language across all theme variants.

📋 Accessibility

The Ninja Theme Collection is designed with accessibility in mind:

  • All themes meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1) for body text and every syntax token; the Ninja Colorblind variant additionally clears AA on the Wong CVD-safe palette
  • Inactive line numbers are intentionally muted below 4.5:1 (industry-standard editor convention); the active line number is high-contrast and provides the readable signal
  • The Colorblind variant is specifically designed for users with color vision deficiencies
  • Strategic use of font styles provides additional semantic information beyond color
  • UI elements have distinctive focus states
