How to install

With Forge Super installed, the button above opens the app on this extension, where you press Install. Nothing is installed until you do.

You can also open the Extensions panel in the app and search for Commander Gold Theme. The extension's id is commander-gold-theme.

Commander Gold Theme

A Zed theme extension inspired by Norton Commander, Midnight Commander, and classic Borland editors.

Core palette:

  • Deep DOS blue background
  • Gold primary text
  • Cyan, green, red, and white accents for classic terminal-era contrast

Install locally in Zed

  1. Open the command palette.
  2. Run zed: install dev extension.
  3. Select this directory.
  4. Choose the Commander Gold theme in Zed appearance settings.

  • The extension id already uses the recommended -theme suffix for Zed theme extensions.
